CLAYTON-HAMILTON JAZZ ORCHESTRA and CÉCILE McLORIN SALVANT
The best big-band of America The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra * owes to the enchanting success on all continents to its creators – a magnificent troika of John and Jeff Clayton and Jeff Hamilton, unique jazzmen whose improvisation art is invariably thwarted by a flurry of applause.
Already their first release of Groove Shop was nominated for Grammy. The subsequent albums were also successful, they were repeatedly recognized as the best records of the year, remaining at the top of the charts for a long time. David Badham, authoritative critic of Jazz Journal International, admitted that the Clayton-Hamilton Orchestra was one of the best big bands he had heard. With him were stars such as Diana Kroll, John Pizzarelli, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Charles Aznavour.
